About Me

Pat recently completed an engagement with DIRECTV, and helped launch a marketing and eCommerce page for NFL SUNDAY TICKET, which will stream all NFL games to your iPhone, Browser or TV.

Pat has produced or designed over 50 digital projects spanning CD-ROM, 3D Animation, Online Marketing Campaigns, e-Learning , Web Sites, Intranets, Web Applications, Video On Demand Channels and Mobile Applications. He is an accomplished Interface Designer, User Experience Designer, New Media Producer and an advocate for involving users in the design process.

He started his career as a broadcast designer for an NBC affiliate (KCPM-24) in Northern CA where he also learned camera operation, technical direction, commercial producing and digital editing.

From 1997-2003 Patrick was the “Chief Problem Solver” for Frontera
Design, a new media design boutique he co-founded in Northern CA, that provided web design services to clients such as Sun Microsystems, PC World, Cisco, Intel, General Electric, Prentice Hall, Duarte Design (Apple’s Design Firm),  Sequence, In Your Face Design, Rockport Publishers, and several Silicon Valley startups.

Patrick has taught hands-on workshops and wrote several articles about video production and video technology for Videomaker magazine, a national monthly publication about television and video production. As a part-time professor at Butte Community College he taught courses on the design, business, project management and the process of web development.

In 2004 he was an e-learning consultant with Intel (Folsom, CA),
developing process improvement training for software developers in the
e-business group. There he produced cutting edge online training with that incorporated Flash, Video, and Audio content.

As a User Experience Designer on the Product Development Team for Entriq, a Research and Technology Company for the Entertainment Industry, (2005-2007, Carlsbad, CA) he used his skill to conceptualize,  strategize and prototype Interactive TV, Mobile and Video On Demand Applications for clients such as NBC/Universal, Intel, the International Olympics Committee, MTV, Prince/NPG Music Club, Ultimate Fighting Championships, and BlockBuster Video to name a few.

Patrick has undergraduate degrees in Instructional Technology, Communication Design, and Video Producing, and is currently obtaining a dual certificate in Producing Film,TV and Digital Media and the Business and Management of
Film,TV and Digital Media at UCLA.

Patrick has spent the last 16 months conducting Ethnographic Research to identify and ideate software applications and business opportunities in the music industry. This observational research technique generated over 80 hours of HD video footage that is being repurposed to produce a Documentary titled Beats and Bars, an intimate look into the lives and struggles of Independent Music artist and producers. The project will be re-edited and distributed on 3 Screens (Mobile, Web and Theatrical).

Patrick is an independent consultant, based in San Diego and would like to work with innovative companies to research users, brainstorm and ideate ideas, create strategy, and design user experiences in the area of new media, entertainment, mobile, community and eCommerce.
